ZOMZEY developers: your questions
What can ZOMZEY developers build today?
Today the Developer Hub is in development, so the honest answer is: register your interest and tell us what you want to connect. The foundations being built are a REST API for approved resources, OAuth authorisation, scoped permissions, webhooks, a sandbox and documentation, and the first integrations will be approved applications rather than open access.
How will ZOMZEY developers authenticate?
Through OAuth, so that a member authorises an application without ever handing over a ZOMZEY password, and through scopes that limit the application to the permissions it genuinely needs. The OAuth 2.0 framework is the standard the design follows, which means the flow will be familiar to anyone who has connected an app to another platform.
Will there be a sandbox for ZOMZEY developers?
Yes. A development environment is planned so that an integration can be built and tested without touching live marketplace activity, and only an integration that has been tested and reviewed moves into production. Expect test data rather than real members, deals or payments in the sandbox.
Which events will webhooks cover?
The plan is event notifications for relevant marketplace activity, such as an opportunity being posted, an offer being made or a deal changing state. The exact event list is being decided, which is one reason real integration ideas from ZOMZEY developers are so useful now: they shape what gets built first.
What kinds of integration are ZOMZEY developers expected to build?
CRM and sales connections, agency roster and campaign tools, automation that reacts to deal events, reporting and analytics on authorised data, specialist apps around audiences and discovery, and complementary services that want ZOMZEY in their own workflow. What will not change for ZOMZEY developers?
The rules of the marketplace. Deals are agreed on the platform, funded under Protected Payments and released on approval, member data is handled under UK GDPR, and an integration that tries to take activity off the platform or reach members without consent will not be approved. Integrations extend ZOMZEY; they do not bypass it, and that holds for every one of the ZOMZEY developers who build on it.
Is there a cost for ZOMZEY developers?
No pricing has been announced because the Developer Hub is not yet open. Registering interest is free, and any future terms will be published on this page before the first integrations go live.
Can an agency or a software vendor talk to ZOMZEY before the Hub opens?
Yes. The register your interest email is read by the team, and a vendor with an existing product and customers who use ZOMZEY is exactly the kind of partner the early conversations are for.
