What is a Hub allowed to sell?
The space, time and audience it already has: window and display space, a featured table or shelf, events and signings, a newsletter feature, sampling, a workshop, a place in a subscription box, venue hire or an introduction to its members. Each item goes on the Hub’s rate card with a clear description and a price.
What is a Hub charged?
Nothing to join and nothing to be found in Discover. A Hub pays commission only when a paid placement completes, and Shops and Communities Pro is optional once you are trading regularly; the pricing page lists every figure.
What is a Hub paid, and when?
The agreed price, released to the Hub’s payout method once the Member approves the evidence. The Member funds the deal under Protected Payments before the placement runs, so the money is already there when the window goes up or the event happens.
What is a Hub expected to upload as evidence?
Dated photographs of the display, the event or the printed piece, a copy of the newsletter or post that carried the feature, and any footfall or attendance figure the offer promised. Evidence lives on the deal page, so approval is against what was agreed.
What is a Hub’s duty under the advertising rules?
To say what was paid for. A paid window, a sponsored staff pick or a paid newsletter mention is a promotion and should be labelled as one where customers see it, as the ASA and CMA guidance explains, and a genuine recommendation should never be bought.
