Raise the change before the original obligation is missed, explain why it is needed and get the other party to agree the revised scope or timing in ZOMZEY.

What you need to know

  • Do not assume silence means a deadline extension or permission to substitute a different deliverable.
  • Record the agreed change in the deal conversation and use any available offer, agreement or deal update control where appropriate.
  • If the change affects price, rights, quantity or a major part of the job, make the commercial effect explicit before continuing.
  • Keep the original evidence and the agreed revised terms together so a later review or dispute can see what changed.
  • If the other party will not agree and the original deal can no longer be delivered, use the support/dispute route rather than pretending the deal was completed.
