Can the same audience be reached in different ways?

Yes. The same target audience can often be reached through different supplier types, and each route can serve a different purpose.

What you need to know

  • An Influencer can bring personal content and following.
  • A Hub can bring an outlet, community, venue, publication or footfall.
  • A Band, Musician or Singer can bring music audiences, live presence and content.
  • An Agency can package or coordinate approved represented talent.
  • Use separate deals when deliverables, suppliers or payment responsibilities are different.

How the routes differ

Influencers, Hubs and music accounts can all reach the same people, but they reach them in different moments. An Influencer reaches people on their phone through a personal recommendation. A Hub reaches them in person, in a shop, a venue, a club or a publication they already trust. A musician reaches them at a gig or through a release. Used together, these routes reinforce each other.

Combining routes in one campaign

A new book, for example, might be promoted by a local Influencer who reviews it, a bookshop that gives it a window display and a reading group that discusses it. Each partner reaches part of the same audience in a different setting, so the reader meets the book more than once. Set each partner up as its own deal with its own deliverables and dates, so delivery and payment are clear for everyone.

Common questions about reaching one audience through several routes

Is it worth using more than one supplier type?

Often, yes. Repeated contact through different routes tends to be more persuasive than a single post or placement.

Should I put several partners in one deal?

No. Use a separate deal for each supplier so each set of deliverables and each payment is tracked on its own.

Where do I find partners in one area?

Use Discover or the city pages, such as Influencers by city and Hubs by city.
